job summary:
the machinist will set up and operate the cnc machines to fabricate metallic and non-metallic parts as well as perform other duties as assigned.
essential job duties:
set up and perform cnc programming and cam tasks at the machine
perform daily machine maintenance checks
monitor machine sounds and identify and diagnose changes in order to take appropriate action
knowledge of materials, availability, general characteristics, statics and stresses, machinability, heat treating and stress relieving procedures
ability to read machine dial gauges and precision measuring instruments
performs other duties as assigned
qualifications:
a high school diploma or ged is required
previous cnc experience. break press experience a plus
knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems is preferred
basic knowledge of nc controls, cad cam software, microsoft windows
effectively communicate
analyze data
oganization and multi-tasking
strong attention to detail
work independently and in team settings
