about the role
we have an amazing opportunity for an experienced chef de partie to join our fantastic team. our fabulous menus are devised by our chef patron. to match our desire, you will need to have a real passion for food, an eye for detail, have high standards, and be part of our team culture. we are open to both full-time and part-time for the right roles and those who are studying.
key responsibilities
plan, coordinate and order food requirements using historical data and in accordance with menu cycles where required
undertake accurate stock checks as required, completing appropriate documentation to ensure agreed levels of stock are maintained
advise customers on menu, describing food choices and food style and making suggestions and up selling where appropriate
following standard recipes to ensure final dishes are enjoyed by all and take note of any resources that are being used incorrectly to reserve budgets
ensure that the client expectations of food and food service are consistently delivered
prepare any necessary reports at the end of each day & end of the week outlining staff control and sales
provide monthly sales trends report (food only)
keep up to date with all coshh and haccp procedures and methods
report any equipment and/or building fabric faults and any hygiene, health and safety hazard to the relevant parties on site
responsible for the overall compliance of health & safety, and food safety standards
to carry out monthly stock takes & ordering
working closely with front of house and clients on site
required level 3 food hygiene, food safety, h&s, cash control – epos system, cleaning & sanitising, stock rotation, labelling procedure, due diligence records, cash/safe security, operation of the till
use all mechanical and electrical equipment in a correct and safe manner, using appropriate methods of work, following training and complying with ppe requirements.
be a key member of the team and have the ability to work alone to provide quality service for members
minimum 2 years catering experience is essential
excellent organisational/communication skills with the ability to achieve deadlines and use initiative

we are looking for experienced, self-motivated, enthusiastic individuals with flexibility across shift patterns and a willingness to undertake a variety of duties, if called upon to do so. with this in mind, we will be selecting applicants based upon the following preferred criteria:
qualifications – desirable but not essential
basic food hygiene certificate
knowledge, skills, and abilities
previous kitchen experience with a good level of independent thinking
prior experience of food preparation and service
proven ability to identify possible health and safety/food preparation concerns and address or escalate these as appropriate
able to deliver to sometimes conflicting priorities and maintain levels of service output
aware of the need to ensure the effective ordering, security and rotation of stock so as to maximise revenue and reduce waste
proof of your right to work in the uk

salary - £22,000 - £24,000 per annum, with 28 days holiday
