job summary

at our world class facility near edinburgh, the crop metabolism & field residues department has an exciting career opportunity for a research scientist/study director. the role would primarily research the metabolism and fate of novel agrochemicals in crop plants grown in our sites near edinburgh and in north spain.

the successful applicant will be responsible for the regulatory compliance, scientific conduct, data processing and manipulation, reporting and client liaison for studies in the crop metabolism team.

applicants should be able to demonstrate a good understanding of analytical chemistry techniques, radio-chemistry and metabolism science. they should have a proven track record of working to good laboratory practice.

the successful candidate will have excellent communication skills and be expected to collaborate closely with high resolution mass spectroscopy specialists.

the department also provides services to the agrochemical industries by generating information on crop efficacy and dietary residues, on environmental fate, and also human safety considerations associated with the use of agricultural chemicals and biopesticides in field systems. applicants with relevant experience might have the opportunity to become involved in these study types.
