our client are opening a brand new residential & nursing care home in bridlington and are looking to recruit an experienced care home manager. applicants must have at least two years’ experience managing a residential care home and ideally have experience and be confident in the areas of dementia and end of life care.

our client set in the coastal seaside town of bridlington will provide residential care for elderly members of the community, those with dementia and those needing end of life care.

the role

managing all aspects of the care home operations to deliver high quality care to residents in accordance with organisational, regulatory & statutory bodies.
build trusting and close relationships with residents and their families and ensure that all residential and nursing care is of the highest standard.
ensure that all company policies and procedures and legal requirements are adhered to.
manage care home budgets to meet or exceed revenue targets and expenditure. prepare annual budget including income projections, recommended fee rates and justification for additional spend.

key responsibilities

ensure all relevant practices and processes are in place and adhered to within the requirements of the care quality commission (cqc).
develop and maintain excellent working relationships with cqc, social service departments and other external regulatory bodies.
manage & oversee recruitment of staff. multiple positions to be recruited due to care home being brand new. once staff are recruited, monitor training, motivation, retention, communication, appraisals, and discipline.
ensure the care home is managed in accordance with statutory, regulatory and care home policies and procedures.
increase revenue by achieving the highest possible occupancy levels through a focussed sales & marketing programme.
build & maintain excellent quality working relationships with staff, colleagues, residents and their families, key stakeholders, and relevant professionals.
implement, contribute to, and monitor joint initiatives such as person-centred plans and health action plans for residents.
develop a positive working environment which nurtures and rewards good practice through a programme of training & development. maintain own personal development in relation to social care, professional registration by reading relevant journals, attending meetings and courses.
be ambassador for the care home representing the company where necessary at events & meetings.

maintain the appropriate records and personal information in line with gdpr.
be on call in emergencies.
confidentiality to be always maintained.
complete all necessary and relevant training as per company guidelines.
maintain care home manager duty under the health & safety at work act 1974.

you should be passionate about caring, be enthusiastic, resilient, an excellent communicator, able to multi-task and work under pressure while maintaining kindness and patience at all times. you should have the ability to inspire, develop and grow teams.

a full uk driving license is essential for this role.
