do you want to get into the sheet metal industry or operate cnc brake presses and guillotines? then this company may be able to help. they are a family owned and operated business predominantly specialising in the manufacture of flashings, trims, gutters and accessories for the roofing and cladding industry, operating from their workshop in east grinstead.
due to continued growth we are looking for a trainee brake press operator/sheet metal worker to join their team on a permanent basis. this position has an opportunity to progress if you show the right aptitude and skills.
you will be working alongside our experienced team members and the position will include, but not wholly be limited to, the following:
- the operation of cnc brake presses, guillotines etc (full on the job training provided in-house by their team)
- the operation of hand tools (appropriate training courses provided and funded by the company)
- basic sheet metal fabrication work carried out under the supervision of our team
- the completion of all necessary accompanying paperwork
- operate within company safety guidelines and operating procedures
- housekeeping and general workshop duties
required skills
- you will require basic math skills
- you must be good with working with your hands
- we will provide full training if you are an enthusiastic candidate who can demonstrate an aptitude for high-quality workmanship and good practical skills
- you must be multi-task orientated and possess good organisation skills and attention to detail
- you must be fit and healthy due to the physical nature of the job
- you must have a full and clean driving licence and use of your own vehicle due to their rural location
additional information
- their regular hours of work are: monday - thursday 8.00am-5.30pm, friday 8.00-5.00pm
- there are occasional opportunities for overtime
- 1 hour for lunch (flexible)
