sous chef/chef de partie & hospitality couple – live in, isles of scilly, uk

we are looking for an enthusiastic sous chef - or motivated chef de parties - with partners to join the team at our award winning, 3aa rosette hell bay hotel on the beautiful island of bryher; as well as restaurant couples to spend the season in our newly renovated pub & beachside restaurant on the sub-tropical island of tresco, isles of scilly, uk.

we offer excellent rates of pay, with rates above £12 per hour for chefs & £10 per hour minimum for other roles in the business. many positions offer gratuities and the option of paid overtime. we know a good team member when we see them, and there are regular opportunities for progression within our business.

we have accommodation available for all staff, moments from the beach. we also pay for your travel from penzance at the beginning and end of your contract period. located in the isles of scilly, 28 miles from lands’ end, cornwall, tresco and bryher have small and welcoming communities.

sous chef/chef de partie

duties include:

preparing and cooking food to a very high standard within the kitchen brigade
working with the head chef to produce exciting menus - incorporating fresh & local produce
working closely with restaurant personnel to ensure all the food elements can be relayed to the customers.
a general hands-on approach to day-to-day running of the kitchen

the ideal candidate will be dedicated with a passion for great food; have the ability to work well under pressure with a high standard of cleanliness; be able to speak and understand english; committed and hold the relevant kitchen and hygiene certificates or be willing to obtain these. the successful applicant will have existing experience in an establishment with a good reputation for excellent cuisine and be keen to progress further in our award-winning hotel.
