our subsea energy business in ulverston, cumbria is on the lookout for an experienced stores person to join our business. siemens subsea has an established global reputation for the manufacture and delivery of world-class subsea connector and measurement technology. the ulverston subsea excellence centre manufactures world-class high integrity subsea power and data connection systems for the oil and gas industry. located in ulverston, south lakes, cumbria, close to the lake district, at our 11,000 sq. ft purpose-built factory we design, manufacture, test and install subsea connector and measurement technology for the oil and gas industry and have acquired an enviable global reputation for the manufacture and delivery of our products. we also have a separate mould shop and a class 5 clean room (iso 14644-1). the role. the role of a stores person is to ensure that all stores duties are executed in a professional, efficient, safe and cost effective manner, to ensure the production cells have their orders within the date specified by planning department to meet the business requirements for internal and external customers. to support production processes by performing a limited range of defined basic production task, usually without using machines or tools. let's talk about you. your profile: experience of working within a logistical/warehouse/stores environment. working knowledge of sap. excellent attention to detail. working to the highest levels of health and safety. ability to demonstrate quality awareness. ability to communicate and work effectively in all levels within and outside of the organisation. organised and logical approach to work. your responsibilities: perform a variety of supportive tasks to production, under direct or indirect supervision. actively drive and support continual improvement activities, ideas, and suggestions to support department manager/stores cell leader in developing department to better fit business needs. undertake a range of generic stores activities in a safe and professional manner. always work safely, complying with health and safety and other relevant regulations and guidelines. to ensure the timely kitting of all types of orders. within the date specified. ensure all stock records are maintained in an accurate and efficient manner. follow relevant instructions and be able to use effectively and efficiently relevant documentation and it systems that support the stores activities. have a detailed understanding of the end to end process for the receipt, handling, storing, issue and recall and care and protection of company assets. check the completed activity to ensure that all operations have been finished to meet the required specification. use associated tools and specialist equipment safely and effectively. control the movement of stock & materials to different areas of the business internal & external. perform cycle counts under direction of the cell leader. assist other departments within the business. good attention to detail. to assist within the despatch department on an ad-hoc basis. have a good working relationship with the following areas of the business. let's talk about us.
