the role

the youth reimagined participation manager will be pivotal in developing and embedding the role of young people within the trust, in particular how they integrate into governance and decision-making structures to ensure young people have a voice.

this youth engagement and participation role will take the lead on supporting young people into roles of responsibility and influence within the trust, including young trustees and the aspirational woodland trust youth council. the role will involve managing the development of a range of paid and voluntary work placement and training programmes to provide opportunities for young people across the breadth of the trust's charitable activities. this is a new role with scope for huge potential and diversification.

main responsibilities:

??taking the lead for embedding initiatives such as youth voice in governance and decisions making and establishing a new youth council.

??enabling transformational change in the trust's culture that actively seeks young people's voices and involves young people across the trust, including through high quality volunteering, apprenticeship and employment opportunities.

??co-designing innovative initiatives that will bring young people's ideas and perspectives into the trust's strategy, decision-making and communications.

the candidate

you'll be an excellent communicator with extensive experience of working with young people ideally in a charitable or environmental organisation.

you will have previously managed training and placement schemes and be confident in promoting the value of youth voice to various stakeholders.

an understanding of opportunities to fund and deliver innovative youth engagement programmes is advantageous as well as a strong knowledge of safeguarding legislation and proven responsibility for safeguarding within previous roles.
