family description and location

this is a lovely job for a country loving housekeeper, to work for a very nice family who live on a lovely estate near to liphook in hampshire. living at the house are the principals and two other adult members of the family as well as two dogs. the family also have a live in couple and chef that live on the estate as well as other staff. this is 6 month fixed term role to replace the longstanding daily housekeeper whilst she recovers from an operation. you can live in or live out for this role

job description

all general housekeeping to include cleaning to a high level and presenting the house well
laundry and ironing
changing the beds and other household linen
setting the table for meals
greeting guests and making up guest bedrooms when required
deep cleaning when the family travel,
replenishing stock
dealing with plumbers, contractors etc
simple food preparation on chefs’ day off
laying table,
replacing flower arrangements
anything else needed to keep the house in tip top condition!

candidate requirements

you will need to be an experienced housekeeper who has worked in a private household preferably with other staff. you will have checkable references, you will need to be dog friendly and be a driver with your own car.

days of work, accommodation and salary

the core hours are monday – friday 9am -5pm (40-hour week) but with flexibility to work extra hours when needed. the salary is £35-£45k gross with over time paid. the salary depends on whether you are live in or live out and is negotiable dependent on experience.

accommodation is a self-contained 1-bedroom apartment with own cooking facilities and separate entrance, or you can drive to and from work as you wish.

this is a 6-month fixed term contract starting as soon as possible.
