summary

this position exists to meet and maintain production levels and quality standards for the bw shift fork product.

essential duties and responsibilities

operate cnc (computer numerical control) milling machines.  remove, replace and reset tools, make cnc program adjustments as necessary.

operate assembly equipment, cmm (coordinate measuring machine) & other necessary equipment.

performs all spc (statistical process control) charting as required for a specific job or group of machines.

makes simple adjustments and minor repairs as necessary.

performs assigned preventive maintenance tasks.

participate in team problem solving and process improvement activities

ensure work area is maintained in a neat and orderly fashion.

wear personal protective equipment as required and follow all safety rules and regulations.

follow documented work instructions.

perform other duties as assigned by supervision.

critical competencies

successful completion of operator training program.

basic math skills, including ability to use micrometers and other measuring devices.

ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, work instructions.

ability to read and interpret computer, touch screen and machine commands.

ability to use and accurately enter information into a computer.

ability to inspect parts, visual acuity.

ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

ability to stand for long period of time.
