Gardener / grounds maintenance worker - united kingdom, st helens, merseyside

we are seeking a gardener / grounds maintenance operative for our small ground’s maintenance firm. the job initially is for 3 days a week and will aim to get to 4 days after a few weeks once you are familiar with the sites, systems and our procedures. this will free me up to get more work in for the business which will hopefully lead to full time hours if required. we are a small firm and are looking to expand and are wanting the people in place for this to happen, but they must be the right people. we are very friendly and have a laugh, we do not want people with aggressive or poor attitudes, life’s hard enough at the moment.

you must hold a driving license, be able to drive a van safely and get to the yard for 06:30 in the mornings.

duties will involve loading the van with appropriate equipment,

safe and correct use of mowers

strimmers (being careful near cars, windows, people)

hedge trimmers,

tidying up

litter picking (this can involve some nasty things)

communicating with fellow members of staff

conducting yourself in a professional way (no hoodies covering your face, grunting and smoking and generally looking like a thug)
