reporting to café manager

two hands are passionate for people who deliver sociable service, speciality coffee and freshly made tasty food. our barista’s need to prepare and serve hot and cold beverages, including various types of coffee and tea whilst up-selling our food and confectionary offer. to be successful in this role, you should have customer service skills and knowledge of how brewing equipment operations.

ultimately, you’ll ensure an excellent drinking experience for our customers and promote our café spaces as a social hub.

objectives

actively promoting excellent customer service and following customer service guidelines whilst achieving good mystery shopper scores
reporting all maintenance work to café manager or clockwise management immediately
adhering to food safety and health and safety guidelines and therefore contributing to a pass grade during food inspections
manage front of house food waste and aim to worked below 2% of sales
continuously drive sales with upselling of hot drink items
to provide correct allergen information with 100% accuracy

service and communication

greet customers as they enter and provide a genuine flare for service
take hot drinks and food orders and use pos system while paying attention to details (e.g. allergen information, milk type, correct payment)
prepare orders hot drinks orders to the two hands and coffee supplier standards
serve beverages and prepared food, like cookies, pastries and muffins
keep the bar and café area clean at all times
communicate customer feedback to managers and recommend new menu items
to actively engage with the two hands customer base in a positive way at all times

compliance and safety

maintain stock of disposables, confectionary items and communicate with the kitchen on food levels
check if brewing equipment operates properly and report any maintenance needs
to comply with health and safety, food safety, allergen and other company regulations at all time
to open and close the café spaces at opening or closing times and ensure compliance is followed (e.g. end of day cleaning of machines, blenders, floor and tables)
to flag all areas of concern to your line manager immediately

team work

to promote team work within the operational team and be flexible in your approach
actively problem solve and take a innovative approach to the operation
to communicate in a positive, thoughtful and inclusive manor at all times with your colleagues.

necessary skills

previous work experience as a barista or waiter/waitress
hands-on experience with brewing equipment
knowledge of food safety regulations
flexibility to work various shifts
excellent communication skills
