k.a.g are excited to bring to you a new challenging opportunity for a senior payroll officer to join an independent frozen seafood supplier to join our client based in knutsford.

role: senior payroll officer

salary: upto 40,000 doe

location: knutsford (occasional travel required to other sites - pool car available for travel purposes

hours of work: flexible working hours (07h00 - 15h00 // 07h30 - 15h30 // 08h00 -16h00)

purpose of the role:

we are looking for candidates with experience in both weekly and monthly payroll, who are looking to work for a highly established and reputable company where you will quickly become a key asset to their hr function.

you will take on the responsibility of the full end to end payroll function which includes weekly and monthly salaries through sage payroll, monitoring any changes and amendments as necessary and a full reporting function. this is a very busy and demanding manufacturing unit, so it is important you are happy to work in a fast-paced environment managing payroll for circa 400 staff.

duties:

??experience with sage payroll (essential)

??processing of payroll on various pay frequencies (monthly and weekly)

??process payroll changes e.g. new hires, terminations, tax codes

??registering new employees with hmrc and keeping the business informed of their duties as employers, regarding hmrc and the pension regulator.

??corresponding with hmrc where necessary

??keeping up to date with changes in legislation

??ensuring payroll procedures are adhered to in accordance with company audit guidelines.

??ensuring statutory procedures & payments are maintained, reconciled accurately, timely and in line with regulations.

??answering payroll related queries from internal and external parties.

??prepare reports for senior management, finance department

??calculate the correct amount incorporating overtime, deductions, bonuses etc.

??address issues and questions regarding payroll from employees and management

??submit reports and payments to pension providers

??updating the payroll system for changes to pensions

the successful candidate will have previous experience within a similar role that focuses on process improvement initiatives.you will have good knowledge and experience of hr and payroll practices and exposure to working with complex and high-volume teams.

you will be innovative and forward thinking about streamlining processes for ultimate efficiency and have the ability to multitask, deal with complexity and conflicting priorities/projects at the same time.

accomplished at working effectively across teams within a manufacturing and distribution environment you will possess strong organisation and planning skills, effective time management and the ability to use efficient work methods and tools

the ability to use excel for vlookup's, utilise basic formulas or the ability to manipulate date in excel is highly desirable.
