Service technician - united states, new milford

summary:   production systems set up, test and validate as required. customer technical support and service for assigned product lines. 

duties and responsibilities include the following.  other duties may be assigned.

  •  production build and test of components and systems (including calibration when needed) prior to shipment
  • supply technical support to customers, sales partners and dm’s in a timely and professional manner, ensuring customer satisfaction is a priority
  • manage work schedule (production orders, technical support demands, repairs, inventory levels and accuracy, etc.) ensuring customer and company objectives are met.
  • applies knowledge and ability to perform technical repairs according to schedule.
  • diagnoses and troubleshoots problems with the appropriate equipment to determine most efficient course of action.
  • estimates repair costs and obtains authorization prior to beginning work for all repairs.
  • completes repairs in a timely manner, ensuring it meets quality and reliability specifications.
  • travels to customer locations to complete installations, calibrations or repairs as needed
  • responds to customer inquiries and coordinates all activities until completion (quote, authorization, repair, test, etc.)
  • follows all department procedures including timely documentation of: recording test results, inventory transactions, cycle counts, etc.

  • maintains the service area in a safe and orderly manner.

  • qualifications:

    education/experience:

    associate degree in technical field; or two to four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. background in digital imaging, including camera technology would be advantages.

    language ability:

    ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.  ability to write routine reports and correspondence.  ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

    math ability:

    ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference and volume. ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

    reasoning ability:

    ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.  ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.

    computer skills:

    to perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of common computer operating systems, word processing software; inventory software; order processing systems and manufacturing software.
