    manages overall on site support operations at the airbus facility in mobile, al to ensure employee safety, product quality, customer requirements, manpower allocation, materials/cost, and operational budget are met.  maintains a professional working relationship with all departments.

     

  • duties and responsibilities (essential functions):
  •  

  • assures all delivered flow through the airbus system to meet airbus aircraft delivery schedules.
  • ensures compliance with faa regulations and quality standards at the final assembly line in mobile al
  • manages the replacement order process for defective or airbus damaged components.
  • maintains visibility of all  delivered products to ensure product quality, customer requirements, and cost.
  • develops and monitors quality program to minimize repetitive mistakes and rework.
  • maximizes manpower, equipment and facility utilization.
  • reviews overhead costs, product quality, and inventory to ensure the customer service center to operating within established budgets.
  • manages up to 1-2 employees in the field service and/or contract labor (as needed) to rework in accordance with authorized drawings and specifications.
  • responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of the local teams and the quality of work that they perform.
  • carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
  • responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
  • maintains an effective safety program to prevent injuries and lost time.
  • performs other duties as assigned.

  • qualification requirements:
  •     

  • knowledge and skills:
  •  

  • strong knowledge of commercial aircraft seating products; involving but not limited to repair systems, operations, methods, procedures, and related faa requirements.
  • good administrative and organizational skills.
  • effective interpersonal and team building skills a must in order to work with specific needs and requirements of airbus.
  •  

  • education and experience:
  •  

  • bachelor’s degree in a related discipline is preferred. high school diploma or equivalent required.
  • 5-8 years of related experience required, of which 2 of those years must be in the aircraft industry.
  • 2-4 years of prior supervisor/manager experience required.
  •

    must have the ability to generate written communication and to operate required office equipment. ability to read and review written communication. speech and hearing abilities that allow individual to communicate clearly and distinctly in english.

  •  physical demands:
  •  

    this position requires extended periods of sitting while working with computers and viewing computer monitors and other office equipment. finger dexterity needed in using misc. office equipment such as telephone, computer and copy machine, etc. bending, stooping, reaching, and lifting up to approximately twenty pounds are required during tasks related to the job. will be on call 24 hours a day, seven days a week to respond to airbus needs.
