Underwriting executive - united kingdom, farnham, surrey

we're currently on the lookout for a new member to join our underwriting department initially on a 12-month fixed term contract.

the underwriting executive will be responsible for underwriting and approving tax and vat advances within the business. you'll also be responsible for the credit control processes within the department, including recovery of tax and vat rebates from hmrc. this role involves working closely with various departments across the group of companies and external agencies, contractors and clients.

review application information, as well as documents and credit file informationascertain the different levels of risk presented by clientsvalidating all sales calculations, ensuring all figures are entered accurately and make any amendments where necessary.contacting hmrc to check the status of our clients' self-assessment accounts, to recover outstanding rebates owed to our clientsensuring client records are kept up to dateliaising with subcontractors to obtain statement of earnings for our clientsvalidating all pay data and documents in a timely fashion and data analysis completed to a high standardcompleting internal client handovers to initiate debt management procedures where necessarycommunicating with clients to request pay data and complete conference calls with hmrcbenefits22 days holiday rising by 1 day per year to a max of 25 dayshealthcare cash planperkboxpension schemecycle to work schemeadditional informationall applications will require the right to work in the uk as we don't currently hold a license to provide work sponsorship.

prior experience within an administrative rolemust have a methodical and analytical approach to data analysisability to work to tight deadlines & be capable of working well under pressurewell-developed communication skills, both written and verbalclear, polite telephone manner and clear listening skillsgood it skills - microsoft excel and an ability to use complex bespoke systemsgood time managementteam player with a flexible approachdesirable skills
