Live-in or out housekeeper/cook in hampshire - united kingdom, alresford, hampshire

our private clients based between winchester and petersfield in hampshire are seeking a child and dog friendly, organised, experienced and friendly housekeeper/cook to work for their friendly, busy family.

the family have 2 school aged children and a puppy and you will be working alongside other staff.

the family are looking for a good team player who is flexible, who is confident with their cooking and you must be able to drive (car provided).

duties will include: (but not limited to)

planning menus and cooking daily for the family and any guests
making the most of a wonderful kitchen garden
advance preparation of meals for the family for when you are not working
stock keeping and organising food and other necessary household shopping / deliveries
overseeing the cleaner (35 hrs a week) to ensure that the house is kept to a high standard (including periodic deep cleans, and assisting if needed), and that the antique furniture and silver is properly cared for.
running of household errands e.g. dry cleaners, amazon returns etc.
preparing the house for guests
dealing with tradesmen, suppliers and contractors
occasional driving e.g. airport collections etc

working days/hours: in alternate weeks: tuesday to friday, then tuesday to sunday i.e. one week you would have three days off (saturday to monday), the following week you would have one day off (monday).

or if preferred, monday to friday with two weekends a month (two days off during the week when a weekend is worked).

depending on what is planned for the family, the hours would be 9am – 5pm or if guests are expected for dinner it would be a later start and finish, in each case with suitable breaks.

accommodation: if a live-in role is preferred, the accommodation is a lovely small two bedroom cottage in the village, five minutes’ walk from the main house. partners and dogs are very welcome.

holiday: 28 days’ paid holiday (including bank holidays) per year are included. if a bank holiday day is worked (and then only ever by mutual agreement), 1.5 days’ leave accrues in its place.

salary: up to £45k gross depending on skills and experience
