we have an excellent opportunity for a full time support worker (37.5 hrs per week) in our residential services in the heart of thetford!

flexibility is a must as you will need to be available to work across various shifts between the hours of 08:00 and 22:00. shifts will be spread across mornings, afternoons, evenings, weekends and bank holidays.

due to the nature of this service, we are looking for applicants who hold a full, clean driving licence.

previous experience of working within the care sector is not required as we will provide you with a full induction and training. however, you must enjoy participating in fun activities, be respectful and flexible to adapt to each individual's needs an above all else have a great sense of humour and be fun to spend time with!

fryers walk residential is a 24-hour service. we are a friendly service and we believe we will be able to offer you great job satisfaction whilst in turn you can make a real difference to the people we support quality of life.

what does a support worker do?

as a support worker you will be expected to provide an outstanding level of support that will help to ensure the people we support live a more comfortable, dignified, liberated and happy life. you will have excellent communication skills and be a naturally caring and patient personality.

our support workers provide support with activities both inside and outside the home to help maintain and develop the social skills of the people we support. typical responsibilities may include:

prompting and assisting with person care

supporting with medication

supporting to make and attend appointments

planning healthy meals

shopping and cooking housework washing and cleaning of the bungalow supporting with laundry.

completing daily records

any other tasks required to meet the needs of the person you are supporting
