• location: flexible • grade & salary: g7, gbp39,700 rising to gbp44,522 over three years • post numbers: 203179 • type of contract: fixed term appointment until 31 march 2025 with the possibility of extension • work pattern: 37 hours a week, monday to friday

role purpose

nrw has the opportunity to expand it's delivery of projects to improve the resilience of marine and coastal ecosystems around wales using capital funding made available by welsh government, including the water quality and nature networks programmes. in this role you will lead and oversee a team of technical specialists delivering a range of practical projects to improve water quality, deliver nature based solutions and improve the condition of features of the welsh marine protected area network.

you will maintain oversight of the delivery of relevant marine projects both within your own team and other teams and functions in nrw, supporting the governance of wider capital programme delivery in nrw.

you will champion the delivery of work to improve the resilience of marine and coastal ecosystems, engaging with stakeholders to promote project delivery and drive forwards collaborative approaches.

qualifications and skills

1. experience of leading and line management of a large geographically dispersed team with difference specialisms. 2. substantial experience in project and/or programme management, ideally within a marine and coastal context 3. excellent understanding of marine, and coastal conservation and planning regulatory and legislative frameworks. 4. coaching and mentoring skills. 5. strong organisational, time management and interpersonal skills. 6. experience of stakeholder liaison and public engagement activities, sometimes relating to controversial and high-profile cases and issues. 7. ability to develop networks and communicate effectively with stakeholders, explaining issues and gaining support by influencing, including at a senior level.
