seeking very special self employed female live out carer for our mother based in london, nw7.

min 30 hours per week, mainly mornings. hours and days are as follows:

mondays - 9.00am-5.00pm
tuesdays -thursdays 9.00-2.30pm.
saturdays 9.00-2.30pm.

our mother is bed bound and extremely frail. she has very specific health issues which are not at all like other elderly people. she has many sensitivities and intolerances and her day to day comfort is the overriding aim. on the positive side, she’s very bright, interested in people and communicates well.

as the care is very specific to her and frequently changes, this will need to be learned. therefore there will be paid shadowing and training, before any work can be trialled on your own with her.

care experience is important, but not as important as the qualities and skills you will have…

genuinely caring - patient, -calm -soft spoken,
clean/ tidy /organised - attentive - intuitive - relatively healthy
good clear english speaker
open to new ways of doing things - thinking out of the box.

the work involves

very basic food prep
bed bound personal care, no hoists involved.
organising and if necessary adapting all items to do with care comfort
some light housework
some admin work.

as this is a role for a self employed carer, we require the following:

self employed utr number
evidence of allowed employment in the uk
at least 2 contactable and written previous employer references
up to date dbs or we can provide
if you have personal care assistant insurance an advantage, as well as a current care and handling course qualification.

as this role is for mornings, we would prefer the carer lives close to nw7.

we hope to have the carer starting on her own end of june/early july.
