fawkes and reece are now assisting in the search for a quantity surveyor to join a regional main contractor in their office near oxford. they're looking for a surveyor to join a £30mil project in oxford which consists of the extension/refurbishment of an existing leisure centre. you'll be reporting into the senior surveyor on site and looking after various major packages. the contractor is one which works predominantly in the leisure, commercial and residential sectors on projects valuing anywhere up to £30mil but more typically around £10mil.
as quantity surveyor your duties will include but not be limited to:
financial reporting and controlcontinually monitor and review, in detail costs and values of the works at hand.commercial forecastingensure that the financial reports are produced and submitted in line with the company's reporting timetable.attend regular review and commercial control meetings.liaise closely with the design and project management leads to ensure cross controlmanagement of riskmanagement of contract variationscontract review and production meetingsmain contract and external valuations and final accountsmanagement of consultants and subcontractorsfeedback to the commercial manager of any price elements or unit prices which are considered to be seriously at variance with cost, giving details of shortfall.provide constructive comments on improving efficiency
the ideal quantity surveyor will have:
a degree /equivalent qualificationsat least 5 years as quantity surveyorexperience working on projects valued up to £30mil.
