Accountancy practice director / partner - united kingdom, whitstable, kent

exclusive to tpf recruitment - we're supporting a fantastic firm of chartered accountants who are based in east kent, near whitstable / herne bay in their search for an accountancy practice manager or salaried director / partner. this is a fantastic chance to be part of the leadership team, of a growing and ambitious multi-sited firm of accountants. this is a very rare and exciting position for and east kent based accountant!

as a manager/ partner within the firms east kent offices, you will be responsible for your own client portfolio, with a fee income between gbp200k - gbp300k, made up of sole traders, partnerships and ltd companies, across a range of sectors. the portfolio will be built around the individuals experience and aspirations, and you will be supported by an experienced management team, and a small team of trainees, and senior accountants too. this is very much a general practice working environment, where you will have a hands on position, reviewing the work of the team, being the first point of contact for clients, and managing the office workload. you will work closely with, and have the support of other directors within the business too.

the office provides a range of services across accounts, tax, management accounts, bookkeeping, vat, payroll and cis to name a few. clients are typically under the audit threshold. this practice offers a very relaxed working environment and a great work life balance, including hybrid and/ or flexible working. you will be given lots of autonomy and will be offered as much, or as little support, as you need. this position would be perfect for either an experienced manager, or a senior accountant, looking to take on more responsibility.

the practice is well established, with a strong client and staff retention rate. they also have a marketing department to support with the future growth of the office.

*as an example, you will be responsible for: *

* limited company accounts preparation and review

* corporation and personal tax return preparation and review

* assisting clients with tax planning

* communicating and corresponding with clients

* communicating with hmrc

* training junior staff

* supporting the other partner with billing of clients

* opportunity to attend networking events

* other ad hoc duties in line with the role

*requirements*

* a highly motivated, self-starter with plenty of initiative

* good people skills and a friendly and helpful approach to clients

* experience managing all aspects of a portfolio of clients

* at least 5 years recent practice experience within a firm of accountants

* ideally acca or aca qualified, although somebody qualified by experience would be considered

* an in-depth working knowledge of accountancy software packages such as: sage, quickbooks, xero etc.
