Part time carer / befriender - united kingdom, crosshill, glasgow
we are looking for an energetic person to spend 6-10 hours per week (flexible re days) assisting an elderly gentleman. ideal for a student or someone who perhaps just works part time, or is only looking for minimal hours.
role would include - keeping him company, going out for a coffee/walk, very light housework (he has a cleaner already), picking up minimal groceries. no personal care (or very little) required - maybe the odd shave/assisting with shave, helping him on/off with his jacket, taking his leg splint on or off.
we are really just searching for a personality match for our dad. the candidate doesn't need care experience, this is very much a personality fit, he is artistic with a dry sense of humour. interests include history and photography. he is 75 and suffered a stroke many years ago, mentally he is fine, but is now permanently in a wheelchair so you will need to be fit enough to push a manual wheelchair (for short outings).
