little fish is looking for kitchen staff to join our new venture. this is an exciting opportunity for the right candidate to work in a kitchen alongside michelin-trained, multi-award winning head chef and co-founder, neil witney. neil has set up and run some of the uk’s most successful pan-asian restaurants so why not join us and learn from the master?

we’re interested in hearing from candidates at different seniority levels as we have several open positions, though our priority currently is at more junior levels, but we are looking to expand rapidly. we are primarily looking for full-time staff but would consider part-time and casual workers.

responsibilities and duties

this will be a varied role and we are looking for people who are willing to be flexible and get involved in all areas of the running of our kitchen. as a start-up, we value attitude above all else.

as a more junior member of the kitchen team, responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

washing, peeling, and preparing food ingredients
using equipment such as mixers, special knives, and cutters
reviewing kitchen inventory and determining what items are needed
unloading fresh supplies and organising the stockroom
checking sell-by dates and rotating food stock
cleaning kitchen appliances, ovens, dishes, and pans
observing cooking times and correct temperatures

qualifications and skills

the right attitude is what we value most. for more junior kitchen roles, no formal experience is required, and full training will be provided.

some skills would be a benefit but not required:

sushi making or good knife skills
previous kitchen work experience
sound knowledge of food safety regulations

required attributes are:

ability to work under pressure and as part of a team
excellent verbal communication skills
time management and organisational skills

location and hours

our kitchen is in liphook, hampshire. our core kitchen hours are wednesday to sunday from 06:00 to 15:00. please note that as a start-up, we may need to review these as we learn. our hours offer prospective kitchen staff the opportunity to not work evenings!

salary and benefits

salary/hourly wages are negotiable depending on experience, but we aim to pay top of market for the best talent. we offer great prospects for people that want to grow with the company.
