Customer service - united kingdom, liphook, hampshire

little fish is looking for service staff to join our new venture. this is an exciting opportunity for the right candidate to work for an innovative start-up whose mission is to bring exceptional sushi and pan-asian cuisine to food lovers rural communities.

our kitchen and menu are run by michelin-trained, multi-award winning head chef and co-founder, neil witney. neil has set up and run some of the uk’s most successful pan-asian restaurants.

we are currently looking for several service staff to help distribute our food out to customers in various locations. the primary responsibility of our first service staff hire will be to staff our big (and beautiful!) sushi van that will serve as a collection point for our food in towns and villages within a radius of our main kitchen.

we’re interested in hearing from candidates at different seniority levels as we have several open positions, though our priority currently is at more junior levels, but we are looking to expand rapidly. we are primarily looking for full-time staff but would consider part-time and casual workers.

if you like the idea of being part of a dynamic start-up with the potential to grow with the company, this could be the role for you.

responsibilities and duties

this will be a varied role and we are looking for people who are willing to be flexible and get involved in different areas of the business. as a start-up, we value attitude above all else.

efficiently packing and loading food orders from the kitchen into the vans
being the face of little fish to customers collecting their food from our vans
while all food is pre-ordered with no preparation needed when giving to customers, there will be some food garnishing required
using our software to accurately provide our food to customers and communicate with the kitchen to ensure seamless service
ensuring that the van and working areas are maintained to a high standard as a reflection of the brand
responding to in-person and online enquiries from customers

qualifications and skills

the right attitude is what we value most. for more junior roles, no formal experience is required, and full training will be provided.

some skills would be a benefit but not required:

for employees who will drive the ‘sushi van’, ideally, they will be aged 25+ with a clean driving license. younger license holders will be considered, and some roles require no driving.

previous sales/customer service experience
sound knowledge of food safety regulations

required attributes are:

ability to work under pressure and as part of a team
excellent verbal communication skills
time management and organisational skills

all applicants must have the right to work in the uk.

location and hours

our kitchen is in liphook, hampshire. while shifts will mainly start and end at this location, the ‘sushi van’ will travel to towns and villages within a radius of liphook on different nights of the week.

our core collection hours for customers are wednesday and thursday from 16:00 to 20:00 and friday to sunday from 12:00 to 20:00. depending on the nightly location of the vans, this will mean a start at the kitchen at around 14:30 and 10:30 respectively.

please note that as a start-up, we may need to review these as we learn.

salary and benefits

salary/hourly wages are negotiable depending on experience, but we aim to pay top of market for the best talent. we offer great prospects for people that want to grow with the company.
