project engineer salary: gbp31,931 to gbp44,166 (dependent on skills and experience). a specialist allowance of up to gbp3000 per annum is also available for this role.

at the isis neutron and muon source facility, we are recruiting a project engineer to lead the design, engineering and delivery of neutron instrument projects for the isis facility at the rutherford appleton laboratory.

within this role, your responsibilities will include:

lead the engineering through the complete project lifecycle (from concept to commissioning). curate and manage requirements and engineering specifications for, top system level definition, and sub-system work packages. ensure the successful delivery of engineering equipment from internal design teams and external suppliers to meet the project goals, and the scientific & business need. project management. about you

we are looking for someone with a confident understanding of the engineering design & delivery process, and a high competence in project management and technical leadership. the role requires a person with great interpersonal skills, particularly in communication, negotiating, networking and team building.

you will be skilled at solving sophisticated engineering challenges with a methodical structured approach, and be able to draw upon a good knowledge of mechanical engineering design and manufacturing fundamentals.
