we are a successful saas business who supports clients manage risk and compliance through core cloud-based software products. our saas platforms are all delivered using inhouse developers based in bulgaria and the uk, with trading in sterling, euros, and us dollars. the financial controller is responsible for ensuring the maintenance of financial records, the provision of financial reports and metrics to support the businesses and deliver the requirements to plc.

reporting to the division finance director and working alongside the local senior management team as they manage growth and deliver significant transformation. this is a lean business, and the financial controller will “own” the finance function acting as a “business partner” to the local smt and working at both a strategic and operational level. this is a ‘hands on role’.

you will also be required to provide a lead role on integration of new business and systems within the marlowe software risk and compliance division.

key activities

maintenance of p&l and balance sheet for the operating companies and consolidation of any sub divisional entities
produce clear, accurate and timely management accounts, financial and cashflow forecasts and budgets
produce and reconcile revenue to comply with frs 102 and show arr & mrr
identify and manage financial risk and opportunities
produce accounts, liaising with auditors
cash management / forecasting
maintenance of financial records including sales ledger: invoicing and credit control, payroll and pensions; purchase ledger and cash payments
processing of all tax matters: paye, cis, vat
improve working processes, manage and develop systems to accommodate business growth and increase/facilitate inter-group communication
managing budgetary requirements
monitor kpis and divisional related budgets to assess and monitor performance
ensure the division is well supported in terms of finance
work closely with divisional md’s and members of the slt to deliver financial records, process and kpi’s to support the team to deliver the desired financial goals.
lead integration projects for the finance function with new acquisitions and systems

essential criteria

significant experience as financial controller encompassing the full range of finance functions including management reporting and cost analysis
financial management experience gained within companies in transition, undergoing growth and business transformation / integration. ideally smes with multiple operating companies
formal accounting qualification at acca/cima
excellent it skills, expert in excel and competent across the full suite of microsoft office products. knowledge of sage 200, xero, cooper
a proven record of success in senior level general or commercial role, preferably in the saas sector and international trading.

strategic thinking and problem-solving aptitude
excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
experience of m&a and managing finance integration and change programmes is desirable for this role.
