we are now looking for a procurement manager to be responsible for the development, management and improvement of all procurement processes.

main duties:

actively source products both onshore and globally, negotiating competitive prices and terms with suppliers.
manage the continuity of supply of goods and services through effective communication with stakeholders.
develop the long-term procurement strategy of purchased material with visibility and alignment with company strategy, considering the continuity of supply and contingency plans.
monitor supplier performance to assess ability to meet quality and delivery requirements including documented product specifications and on-site quality control.
actively source and develop new products implementing procedures and systems to evaluate or select suppliers.
implement a strategy to improve product buying prices, payment terms and qc from new and existing suppliers.
analyse inventories to determine how to increase inventory turns, reduce waste, whilst optimising customer service.
identify opportunities to reuse or recycle materials to minimise consumption of new materials, minimise waste, or to convert wastes to by-products.
ensure products are compliant and fully certified, meeting uk and eu standards, and suitable for providing to public sector organisations such as nhs, schools, local authorities and the mod.

about you:

knowledge and experience:

experience as a procurement professional with a proven track record.
experience of implementing and delivering a global procurement and supply chain strategy in healthcare and ppe products whilst ensuring maximum stakeholder engagement.
direct experience working in providing products that require medical certification and meet uk & eu standards.
a good basic knowledge of mrp/erp systems and reports.

skills and attributes:

strategic design and implementation of sales and operation planning.
