gardners is currently recruiting for a sales & marketing assistant to join its busy marketing department. reporting into the marketing & events manager, the successful candidate will manage supplier advertising relationships and bookings, and also handle general product merchandising on our consumer facing platform hive.co.uk.

as part of the sales and marketing assistant role you will become the primary point of contact for publishers looking to advertise with gardners. you will collate advertising packages, manage bookings and any queries. you will be highly organised and proactive, looking at new ways to grow our departmental income in this sector.

our sales and marketing assistant will also handle general product merchandising on our consumer facing platform hive, working on monthly features, curating content, building promotions and ensure the site always features new and current products.

an overview of tasks include:

handling publisher advertising bookings, contacting publishers to sell advertising space across our platformsadhering to schedulescreating and circulating schedulescurating bespoke content for both sales & marketingwebsite product merchandising, ensuring content is always currentbuilding promotions and features on hivegeneral administrative tasks relating to advertising and contentother ad-hoc tasks as required to support the wider department and businesswe would welcome applications with the following skills: marketing, digital marketing, advertising, sales, telemarketing, telesales, merchandising, administration, product merchandising, it literate, ms office, excel, communication, copy writing, business acumen, admin, planning, content management, invoicing.

additional informationthis position will be temporarily hybrid, working 2-3 days in the office, and the rest remotely. during 2022, it will resume to full time within the office. previous experience in these sectors is not necessary as full training will be provided, however previous digital marketing and office-based experience would be an advantage.

essential skillsexcellent communication skills, both verbal and writtena confident manner, as you will be the point of contact for a large number of publishersstrong knowledge of microsoft office, with a particular focus on excelhighly organised, and able to handle varied workloadsability to prioritise your own workloadhigh attention to detail in all workability to pick up new tasks quicklya pro-active approach to working, and supporting the overall marketing teama keen interest in reading and a passion for bookscopy writing skills
