cleaner with own transport to work 17.5 hours per week
to work individually or as part of a multiple disciplinary borough-wide cleaning team to carry out a range of internal and external cleaning tasks, including dusting, vacuuming, mopping, internal and external sweeping, buffing, wiping down walls/windows/entry and internal doors etc, as identified by the estate services managers and/or estate services supervisors.
to undertake training to enable the safe use of equipment and chemicals to carry out a range of cleaning tasks, e.g. bic's (british institute of cleaning science), and to update skills to ensure that new methods and techniques are employed whenever possible.
to carry out a range of periodic cleaning tasks, e.g. carpet cleaning, stripping and resealing of floors, deep cleanse projects etc. when necessary.
to provide a responsive cleaning service as cover for absence, leave, emergencies etc.
to undertake daily monitoring of stock and equipment to ensure that tasks can be adequately undertaken.
to review and prioritise workload on a daily basis, in association with the estate services manager/ supervisors and to be flexible in the approach to carrying out your duties to maximise the efficiency of the team.
to undertake assessments of work areas and to comply with risk assessments/safe methods of work prior to carrying out duties.
to clean offices and employee areas as required and ensuring they are secured.
to report any defects with cleaning equipment to your supervisor/manager
to report building defects to your supervisor/manager.
to undertake the use of new technology as required (with appropriate training).
to be able to complete signing in/out books, time sheets, tick sheets, etc accurately and by the appropriate deadlines.
to comply with health and safety legislation, including coshh regulations, and at all times ensure that a safe method of work is followed.
to ensure confidentiality at all times.
to have due regard for the security of buildings.
to actively participate in individual and company training and development opportunities as deemed necessary.
