**job summary**

the product manager, neuroscience will be responsible for the development, execution and coordination of marketing activities related to neuroscience drug discovery cro services. in partnership with business operations partners, they will develop and execute strategies for portfolio life cycle management, as well as develop and execute go-to-market strategies for existing business and portfolio expansions. this will include development and execution of marketing campaigns and close coordination with sales management to ensure business goals are met.

*essential duties and responsibilities: *

• become the "go-to" point person for the neuroscience portfolio within the charles river commercial team. maintain a meaningful understanding of the business performance fundamentals (key clients, historical and projected sales data, profitability).

• develop and execute sound short- and long-term marketing plans for the portfolio, working cross-functionally to ensure buy-in from business stakeholders and alignment with business unit and corporate goals.

• discover and evaluate ideas and suggestions for new products/services; investigate market opportunities and effect on the market for present products.

review market analyses and gain direct customer insight to determine customer needs and evaluate offering of the competition. recommend economically attractive opportunities to senior management.

• work collaboratively with business unit managers at discovery sites globally to contribute to overall business success by developing and driving programs and projects.

this may include researching and helping to realize potential portfolio enhancements, and/or establishing programs to cross sell/cross market with other charles river divisions.

• in partnership with operations partners, prepare training materials and provide training for sales representatives and other internal audiences: participate in the annual sales meeting; analyze sales statistics to formulate strategies and provide guidance and support for the sales force in selling the organization's services.

• articulate strategic message for the portfolio internally and externally. develop and maintain website content, sales collateral, and educational content (webinars, whitepapers, editorials, etc.) to drive lead generation and support/accelerate the customer buying journey.

• drive engagement of business and commercial team stakeholders in tradeshow and scientific conference activities.

• perform all other related duties as assigned.

*qualifications:*

• education: bachelor's degree (b.a. /b.s.) or equivalent in life sciences or related discipline. advanced degree a plus.

• experience: very strong professional related experience in the life science industry. an equivalent combination of educational,laboratory and commercial experience will be considered.

• certification/licensure: none.

• ability to multi-task, excellent written and verbal communication skills, organizational skills, and attention to detail required. must possess analytical thinking and problem-solving skills and be able to prioritize and re-evaluate priorities as situations change.

proven ability with ms word, excel and powerpoint software required. familiarity with marketing automation and crm platforms required (pardot and sfdc preferred). familiarity with project management tools (smartsheet) a plus.
