Accounting assistant - senior - united states, jacksonville (north carolina)

adecco is currently assisting a local client in their search to fill an accounting assistant position location: winston salem, nc 

 

type: 40hrs/wk.  contract

start date:  within the next 1 to 2 weeks

location:  winston salem, nc (local candidates only)

pay: $25.35/hr.

shift:  mon-fri 8:00 am - 5:00 pm

responsibilities for job include accounting assistant but are not limited to:   

relieve carrier payable function:

responsible for handling 30 different carrier statements

match payables per carrier bordereaux statements to ap shown in ams (accounting gl system)

email account rep & carrier contacts if there is any discrepancy between carrier statement and ams

relieve ap once verified for accra racy

making journal entries in ams for bank transfer entries.  functions to be added with experience
 

qualifications for this accounting assistant job:

bachelor’s degree in accounting preferred 

accounting background

2-3 years of work experience in accounts payable

exceptional communication skills as this will involve a lot of email/phone correspondences with internal business partners as well as external carriers 

preferred qualifications for this accounting assistant job:

insurance experience, particularly in managing general agency space

experience with ams/epic (insurance gl systems)

experience in working at a public company with tight close schedule
