family description and location

domestic couple required to maintain a historic 5-bedroom property in buckinghamshire which is utilisde by a family of 5 as a 2nd residence. the property is near buckingham which is a 20 minute drive from milton keynes where there is a train to london in 30 minutes. the family are predominantly in residence every other weekend with more time within the school holidays as a result the clients are looking for a couple who are happy covering the weekends as part of their 5-day working week.

the property is approximately 2 acres and comprises of the main house which has 5 bedrooms, all en-suite, lounge, dining-room, kitchen, study, and hallway.

there is a separate 2 level barn. the ground floor comprises of a utility room, store, kids play area, toilet and lounge. on the first floor there is a games area, bar and one bedroom which is en-suite.

maintenance

identifying and undertaking basic household maintenance tasks
in the event an issue requires specialist contractors, obtain quotes from various providers and engage suitably qualified teams to undertake necessary works
undertaking preventative maintenance periodically throughout the year
supervise contractors when on site
responsible for the day-to-day security of the property in the family’s absence
ad hoc driving if required
occasionally support the external gardening contractors

housekeeping

day to day cleaning of the property including bedrooms and reception rooms
making beds ready for the family’s arrival
dusting
deep cleaning
laundry
ironing

family cooking

preparing basic family meals when they are in residence (2 adults, 3 children and nanny)
grocery shopping

one of the daughters has a mild nut allergy which needs to be accommodated

candidate requirements

to be eligible for this role, you will be able to demonstrate proven experience working together within private households undertaking similar duties. one candidate must be confident preparing family meals and one candidate (preferably both) will be a confident driver. strong communication skills are essential.

the couple will have their own fully furnished accommodation which is an outbuilding within the grounds of the property. it is a 1-bedroom ensuite with a lounge, kitchen and utility room.
all utility bills will be met by the employers.
they are unable to accommodate couples with dependants
a small dog may be considered
vehicle available

salary: £60,000 gross per annum + food allowance

working days and hours: 5 days a week covering weekends, 45 hours a week

start date: june 2022
