Bookkeeper (part time) - united kingdom, granton, edinburgh

fruits in the city is a well-established business with over 12 years’ experience supplying fresh fruit boxes, milk and healthy snack boxes to health-conscious businesses across central scotland. our client base is varied and includes well-known household businesses through to new start-ups.

we are looking for an experienced bookkeeper/administrator to join our team in a part-time role and ensure the smooth running of this position. immediate start is available and a competitive hourly rate.

the successful candidate should be highly organised with strong communication skills with a minimum of 3 years bookkeeping experience and be confident in working independently and as part of a small team.

all applicants must be proficient in the use of freeagent or similar (handover training given).

please note: this is an office based position for all hours outlined. you must be able to commute to eh5 1rs.

part time role

16 hours per week (office based)

monday through to thursday (9.30am to 1.30pm)

experience required:

· freeagent software or similar, preferred but training given.

· experience using dropbox and microsoft office programs (excel in particular).

· good written and verbal communication skills.

· ability to work with minimum supervision and to deadline.

· positive attitude and willingness to bring new ideas.

· at least 3 years bookkeeping experience.

bookkeeping:

· sales ledger – entering invoices and receipts.

· purchase ledger.

· update bank accounts and reconcile.

· opening new accounts with new suppliers as required.

· chasing and managing late payments.

· filing paperwork.

· preparing vat return.

· processing monthly payroll.

· producing monthly reports.

· ensuring all customer records and accurate and up to date.

· dealing with supplier queries and issues.

· ensuring accurate records are kept and maintained for all clients.

· liaison with external accounts team to help prepare year end accounts.

office administration:

· telephone answering

· dealing with enquiries and ensuring recorded and followed up.

· liaison with drivers and fruit packing teams

· preparation of driver route and packing sheets.

· weekly management of staff time sheets

· ensuring all company systems are kept up to date.

· other ad-hoc administration as required.

salary

£17 per hour
