fawkes and reece are currently assisting in the search for a senior surveyor to join a leading tier 1 main contractor on site in devizes. they are looking for a senior quantity surveyor to run a £30mil new build sen school which has around 18 months left to run. as senior surveyor you will report directly into the commercial manager and have an assistant surveyor reporting into you. you will then go on to run various other projects across hampshire/wiltshire/dorset.

as senior quantity surveyor, your duties will include but not be limited to:

pre-contract:

attending pre-commencement / pre-contract meetingsattend meetings regarding all financial control procedures associated with the design development to ensure the recording of perceived risks and opportunities in the bid as required.

post contract:

financial reporting and controlcontinually monitor and review, in detail costs and values of the works at hand.commercial forecastingensure that the financial reports are produced and submitted in line with the company's reporting timetable.attend regular review and commercial control meetings.liaise closely with the design and project management leads to ensure cross controlmanagement of riskmanagement of contract variationscontract review and production meetingsmain contract and external valuations and final accountsmanagement of consultants and subcontractorsfeedback to the commercial manager of any price elements or unit prices which are considered to be seriously at variance with cost, giving details of shortfall.provide constructive comments on improving efficiency

the ideal senior quantity surveyor will have:

a construction related degree/equivalent qualificationexperience as commercial lead on an education projectsecure working knowledge of jct forms of contract (nec is beneficial but not essential)
