are you passionate about improving the quality of life for people diagnosed with dementia and their caregivers?
know dementia, a sussex-based charity, wish to recruit a dementia café activities co-ordinator to help cover their memory moments cafés in east sussex. experience of working with families affected by dementia, as well as running group activities, is essential.
our memory moments cafés are fun, informal and offer a variety of activities for our members to take part in, including games, music, dance, animal-therapy and themed sessions etc. this gives people with a diagnosis of dementia or memory problems, the opportunity to enjoy special moments with their care partner, and the rest of the group, doing meaningful activities.
to facilitate this, our co-ordinators need to have excellent organisational, communication and co-ordination skills, as well as a friendly and welcoming nature.
the successful candidate for this role must be prepared to travel within a 20-mile radius of hailsham therefore a car is essential, for which a mileage allowance is paid towards travel.
the 15 hours would typically be over tuesdays, wednesdays and thursdays and would vary between mornings and afternoons.
the starting hourly rate is £9.80, rising to £10.00 after a satisfactory probationary period. 28 days paid holiday (pro rata) allowance, per year.
