the maintenance engineer will be responsible for completing both planned preventative and reactive maintenance tasks. the main purpose of the role is to help provide a safe and well-maintained environment at all managed property locations.
duties and responsibilities
carrying out skilled general maintenance work in all aspects of the facilities, both internal and external as well as general diy and maintenance including basic carpentry, plumbing, replacement of tiling and flooring, painting, and decorating
regular checks, inspections and assessments of all managed properties, other clinical and public areas and performing jobs as and when they are required.
to work on planned preventive maintenance schedules, in line with departmental goals and objectives, carried out in accordance with time frames
to respond to reactive maintenance and emergency maintenance requests
to prioritise work requests and carry them out efficiently
to ensure all works are documented accurately
to carry out minor repairs and maintenance such as general carpentry, plumbing, painting, unblocking sinks, changing locks, changing light bulbs, replacing tap washers, etc.
to assist in projects as required
skills and experience
common sense trade skills and ability to “think outside the box” and problem solve
organisational skills are mandatory
previous experience in a similar role, ideally within a property management environment
excellent communication skills
carpentry repairs
carry out basic electrics
carry out basic plumbing repairs
painting and decorating
minimum of 2 to 3 years’ experience of the above required
as part of our continued growth, we are now looking for multi skilled engineers able to work under pressure and within appointed deadlines.
the ability to be flexible in work and be prepared to deal with out of hours emergency situations when on rota.
candidates must hold a full, clean uk driving licence and be uk residents at the time of employment.
