our client is one of the most prestigous private schools in the uk. they are currently looking to recruit a head of digital to join their senior management team.

the role

our client is seeking to appoint a head of digital strategy and academic it who will lead the inspirational development of the school’s digital provision, evaluate and make proposals for new technologies and promote and develop digital practice. this role will be expected to be the authoritative source of information on e-learning requirements, lead digital and academic innovation and provision as well as offering training and support across pupils and staff.

there will be plenty of opportunity for the successful candidate to be creative, experimental and innovative. a major part of the role will be to undertake the development of the school’s digital learning platform and integrating technology into teaching and learning. this will have an increasingly pivotal role as a departmental resource and in the delivery of streamed multimedia alongside routine work sheets and schemes of work.

communication is a key part of the role, leading the school in a new stage of digital strategy by advising on and recommending technology to streamline information for students, staff, parents, governors and all other stakeholders. we will expect the successful candidate to lead on:

• helping students to be confident in adapting to and embracing the technology available to them

• identifying leading systems to deliver expectations on teaching and learning and administrative matters

• sustainable use of technology and management of resources

• innovation and creativity

• streamlined communication and administrative processes

• to lead all staff in training and development of the skills

the ideal candidate will have a passion for all things digital, teaching and learning and the promotion of stem subjects for girls and issues around cyber security and e safety. it is expected that there is evidence of networking with strong relationships with appropriate sources.

essential requirements

the successful candidate will be able to demonstrate the following essential skills:

• working on educational projects and the evidence of implementation at all levels

• extensive experience of using it in the classroom

• highly developed understand of it systems for teaching and leaning

• evidence of developing and supporting the use of edtech/technology to enhance communication and learning

• excellent presentation and verbal communication skills

• ability to work across all levels of the community at all times

• strong organisational and time management skills

• previous experience of working in education

• self-starter with the ability to provide solutions to problems, taking into account the future vision of the school

• broad range of skills that can be applied on a practical level

• resilient and sincere

• ability to perform practical tasks as and when required

• excellent subject knowledge

• must be prepared to attend internal and external training days • approachable and with good inter-personal skills

• a desire to ensure that tasks are completed

• the ability to work well under pressure and be solution focused

• to work as a member of the senior management team and show commitment to a highly dedicated team

• attention to detail

• ability to demonstrate commitment to wider school life

• flexibility
