our private client is looking for a live-in housekeeper/cook to work at their weekend residence near marlborough in wiltshire. they are looking for a trustworthy individual who will be responsible for the upkeep of a beautiful 5-bedroom georgian house. recently refurbished to the highest standards, the property also includes a beautiful garden with a pond (a gardener is coming every friday) and a large barn which features a guest room, an entertainment space, and the housekeeper/cook accommodation (a brand new 1 bedroom apartment built to the highest standards with underfloor heating, fully furnished, all bills paid for). the position is to be filled by the end of august/early september.

duties include but are not limited to:

general housekeeping and upkeep of the property (monday: laundry, beds/friday: getting the house ready for the arrival of the family)
cleaning
dusting
hoovering
handle antiques with care
cooking healthy and modern meals for the family and their guests
making fruit compote/puree with the property’s fruits (apples/plums/pears)
taking care of deliveries (ocado), filling the fridge, stocking supplies, etc…
light gardening in the summer (water the plants…)

working days/hours:

monday/tuesday 9am-3pm
wednesday/thursday off
friday/saturday 9am-2pm then 6pm-9/10pm
sunday 9am-2pm

other information:

the family is happy to accommodate a partner
they entertain regularly at the weekend (up to 10 people)
time in lieu of bank public holidays worked
you must be passionate about cooking and willing to learn new recipes. the family loves mediterranean cuisine
must be a driver and have your own car
salary between negotiable depending on experience (£35,000-£40,000)
start date: end august/early september
