this company is one of the uk's largest privately-owned industrial engineering companies and supports three subsidiary businesses; they provide engineering services to industry covering machinery installation and relocation, mechanical engineering, technical and heavy lifting and wind turbine generator construction on a national & international scale.

about the role

working from their flagship office/depot, you will be required to assist with the organisation of the daily logistics of the branch helping the operations, transport and branch managers plus where required the contracts managers and branch administration support to successfully deliver the companies services.

you will receive all necessary training and work experience to fulfil your role confidently and competently.

the wigan branch is part of their uk national network with additional locations in leyland, glasgow, birmingham, rotherham, bristol & london as well as overseas locations in germany, poland & czech republic through its sister company.

they are a well-equipped professional business that hold a large stock of specialised lifting and installation equipment designed to carry out specialised engineering tasks allowing you to carry out your duties safely.

main duties:

- help organise internal resources to complete jobs on multiple sites & issue necessary instructions & paperwork

- assist with administration tasks within the branch as required

- create spreadsheets, word documents, send emails plus other it related tasks

- filing & organisation of branch paperwork

- answer telephone calls from clients & fellow members of staff and deal with the calls accordingly

- help to administer the companies crm system and other company systems

- to provide administrative support to the branch manager, contract manager etc

- all other general administrative duties

this list is not exhaustive, and you will be required to undertake other duties as directed by your manager.

- no prior experience necessary

- a good level of it literacy, including familiarity with ms office

- excellent communication and relationship-building skills
