job details:
we have multiple lab environments in our organization and you might work in any of four environments.

do genotyping assays such requiring use of multi-channel pipettes, reagent preparation and sample tracking.

perform high throughput genotyping using automated liquid handlers and timed schedules.

provide assistance in the pre-pcr lab environment performing quantitation and normalization of nucleic acids utilizing automation.

work in a bsl2 space for nucleic acid extractions

other general laboratory duties include

 

enter data into lims.

report any out-of-calibration or broken equipment.

fill out inventory sheets for material consumed

assist team in stocking/restocking materials and shipping/receiving customer samples.

how will you get here?

education:
bs in biological sciences fields, such as biology or biochemistry with 1-2 years laboratory experience in basic laboratory techniques required such as micropipetting, solution preparation, pcr, gel electrophoresis, optical density measurements, work with laboratory information management system (lims).

knowledge, skills, abilities:

work well in a team environment

proven excellent record keeping and organizational skills

self-motivated

capacity to learn new technologies/concepts rapidly and apply them to the needs of the lab

flexibility to occasionally work on weekends
