Prison project worker - united kingdom, newton abbot, devon
we are looking for a dynamic and versatile person to join our small, friendly team at hmp channings wood in devon. storybook dads is a multi-award-winning national charity. we help prisoners to keep in touch with their children by helping them to record bedtime stories and make other personalised gifts. there are lots of different aspects to the role which makes it rewarding and interesting. approx 16 hours per week ( possibly more) over two or three days. we need you to :
be computer literate and willing to learn specific software for the role offer support and encouragement to prisoners who want to read to their children. be organised, creative, patient, and have a non-judgemental attitude have a flexible and adaptable approach have a great sense of humour have good organisational and admin skills and excellent literacy skills maintain a professional attitude when working with offenders whilst supporting learning
it would be beneficial if you have prior experience in using audio / video software or have previously worked with offenders, but this is not essential as full training will be given.
