3 days per week a minimum of 4 hours per day

you will be required to assist the man change and shower

there is some personal care required

you will be required to push the mans wheelchair to the local gym and swimming baths, the carer will assist the man transfer on to gym equipment

once set up you will be free to exercise your self.

the man is able to weight bare this means that the man will need a little assistance manoeuvring to stand and sit no

the man can eat and drink unassisted but may need food cutting up

however swimming requires minimum effort because the man is lowered in the pool by a lift and kept a float with a belt. the carer will be required to walk with him in the pool.

person requirements

the carer must be fairly strong and familiar with gym equipment, hygienic and must possess a good sense of humour.

hygiene is very important as you will spend long periods of time a together

as well as a carer the young man is looking for a friend

he needs to be motivated to achieve more not someone who takes short cuts or discourages him

the carer will be required to share the disabled friendly changing area

if you are selected for the job a work introduction is given by the man this will include a routine of the job

before you are selected for a introduction your full name and dob must be disclosed inorder for vetting procedure (you will not get a reply absent this information)

you will be paid for the shift

the man has full mental capacity and is aware of his likes and dislikes and does not appreciate being treated different
