General manager required for busy guest house in london - united kingdom, vauxhall, london

our guest house has been successfully trading for 20 years and we need a dynamic and enthusiastic individual to tackle the role of guest house manager. the successful candidate will be able to take the challenge of running the guest house on a daily basis and contribute to the plans for the future of the business all while motivating our closely knit team to ensure that we exceed targets and provide the best guest experience possible.

the ideal candidate will come from the hotel industry. the candidate will be driven to succeed and highly motivated. customer service experience is desirable. he/she must be presentable, with an ability to communicate fluently and articulately with customers and fellow staff members. the candidate will be computer literate; a working knowledge of reservations/revenue management is important.

we are seeking someone with experience of supervising staff, who is able to work on their own initiative. it is expected that existing systems and processes will be administrated and built upon with a focus on quality control and consistency across the guest house. this will also involve oversight of rotas, stock levels etc.

the key responsibilities will be:

to deal with staffing, from rotas to processes and procedures to quality control.
to liaise with head office and accounts regarding any issues at the guest houses.
to improve operational processes, including the intricacies of running a multi-site guest house.
to maintain and improve upon existing processes, from cleaning to check in/out etc.
to manage and oversee staff.
to meet with guests who visit the guest house and generate leads for the guest house.
to monitor custom and revenue in conjunction with the head office.
to assist in creating and implementing business development campaigns.
to improve rating and manage customer feedback and responses across various websites.
to monitor new and existing clients and feed this information back to marketing / management so that we can collaborate in assessing campaigns and return on investment in marketing the guest house.
to contribute through your ideas, knowledge and skills to ensure that we grow the business, achieving and exceeding targets for the company as a whole.

a highly competitive salary of up to £34,000 (commensurate with experience) plus bonus will be offered. the hours will be between 35-40 hours per week.
