Management accountant - interim asap - 6 months - hybrid - united kingdom, enniskillen, county fermanagh
this company is an award-winning it consultancy and managed services provider for oracle, microsoft and google technologies. they are a leading technology partner in the uk whose mission is to be the most responsive service provider for enterprise database management, regardless of platform, geography and cloud infrastructure. highly profitable, pe backed and acquisitive, the company has 150 staff and is growing fast.
you will report directly to the group financial controller and will enjoy a broad remit; specifically you will have responsibility for: management accounts, business partnering, compliance and year end.
management accounts:
- preparing weekly/monthly/quarterly financial statements, including p&l accounts, budgets, cash flows, variance analysis and commentaries
- maintaining detailed deferred income schedules
- preparing month end journals (accruals and prepayments)
- reconciling balance sheet accounts
- analysing company's financial performance and making longer term forecasts
- monitoring and evaluating financial information systems and suggesting improvements where needed
- improving the systems surrounding all aspects of the organisation's budgets, forecasts and business planning
- review payroll adjustments
business partnering:
- interpreting and communicating financial data to non-financial managers
- analysing variances and exploring potential problems with department heads
- ensuring divisional spending is kept in line with the budget
- working with all departments and the management team to help make financial decisions
compliance:
- preparation of various hmrc documentation (ie vat)
- implementing corporate governance procedures, risk management and internal controls
year end:
- providing information for audits and working with the group financial controller to ensure a smooth and efficient audit
candidate profile:
- qualified accountant (aca/acca/cima) with experience of working in an sme technology business
- strong communication skills, particularly attuned to working well with non-finance professionals
- knowledge of uk gaap
- preferable experience of sage/xero
- experience of working in a multi-site organisation
