Automation technician - united states, charleston (west virginia)

automation technicians are the first line of defense for all automated systems group calls or issues. will be main support of the hardware/technical team and help with troubleshooting, maintaining, and coordination of automation related systems. must be able to provide after-hours support as the first line of defense and potentially work off-hour shifts to support outages or projects. 

automation technicians are members of the automation department, working closely with a group of automation engineers, on the job training and mentoring will be provided, there is room for advancement and growth in these roles. 

candidates should possess:

bachelor’s degree engineering or computer science field / associates degree with 5 years’ experience in technical and/or process control hardware and control systems programming

strong skills in data analysis including real-time trending

experience in troubleshooting and quickly repairing hardware components

knowledge of vmware, windows, networking, and plc hardware/software. willingness to improve skills in these areas via on the job training and/or formal training

support off-hours support via phone, vpn, and/or on-site

knowledge and troubleshooting of process control computer hardware and software including equipment such as: plc’s, vme based systems, personal computers, network and communications equipment, and computer software.
