Policy and public affairs officer - united kingdom, northern ireland
we are looking for a new policy and public affairs officer to raise awareness of lung conditions with politicians and civil servants and shape public policy.
asthma + lung uk is the only charity in the uk fighting for everyone with a lung condition, aiming for a world where everyone can breathe with healthy lungs. we fund cutting-edge research, provide advice and support for the 12 million people who will get a lung condition during their lifetime. we also campaign for clean air and for better nhs diagnosis and treatment.
working closely with the head of devolved nations and communications officer you will be responsible for engaging with politicians, responding to consultations and looking for opportunities to raise awareness of the challenges that people living with lung conditions face.
the ideal candidate will have experience of working in the northern ireland assembly, and of developing policies and campaigns. you will be assertive, creative and a good self-motivator. you will possess strong writing, communication and organisational skills and an ability to plan and develop successful influencing campaigns.
