Laboratory assistant i - united states, durham

a greenhouse plant specialist/laboratory assistant role in durham, nc is now available through adecco medical and science. in this role, you will perform plant and seed production activities with commercial crops in a laboratory greenhouse to support plant science research. this is a minimum 6-month+ contract role starting immediately.

responsibilities

hand watering, fertilizing, and plant maintenance

sampling, transplanting, moving, pollinating, and discarding plants

planting, harvesting, shelling, and counting seeds

assist with data collection and plant performance observations

qualifications (education, certifications and/or experience)

bs degree or equivalent in agronomy, horticulture or plant science field or an associate degree with 2 years of experience in plant biology (open to recent graduates who have had greenhouse or plant care experience during schooling)

greenhouse, horticulture, or agronomy experience required

ability to perform all physical duties required in a greenhouse under adverse conditions

demonstrated ability and motivation to work in unsupervised situations

ability to use ms office software and other databases efficiently
