Yard assistant - united kingdom, bishops waltham, hampshire
we are currently recruiting for a yard assistant to join our team.
this is a labour intensive role working in a busy warehouse and yard, preparing and delivering tools, equipment and stock for projects.
this role requires professionalism, a positive and adaptable attitude and the ability to communicate at all levels.
duties as required:
*ladders checks
*flt checks
*compressor checks
*pat testing of electrical items
*company vehicles – when return to the yard: complete a vehicle check sheet, fill fuel, wash/clean vans inside & out
*prep load lists – detail any tools/stock used
*load lists in/out – details any shortages/damages/services required
daily tasks:
*end of day – check building is secure, lights/heaters are off.
*sweep yard (inside and out), with magnet or broom
*check heater for manufacturing and fuel as required
*ensure yard cleanliness
weekly tasks:
*sweep machinery
*empty all internal yard/office bins and recycling
*ensure kitchen area is clean and tidy and toilets are stocked.
*racking/tool stores – all walkway areas are tidy, free and clear.
responsibilities:
*ensuring that all equipment checks are carried out as per a schedule.
*report any damages/repairs to equipment to the operations supervisor.
*ensure that general tidiness and cleanliness of the yard is kept at all times.
*ensure that vans/yard tidiness/cleanliness is maintained.
*assist operation supervisor with any adhoc tasks.
*understand and work to company h&s.
