Physics lab technician - united kingdom, eastbourne, east sussex

eastbourne college is seeking an experienced laboratory technician to coordinate the use of resources and facilities and provide assistance and advice in meeting the practical needs of the physics curriculum.

the college’s state-of-the-art science centre gives all pupils access to cutting edge technology. all four teaching laboratories on the physics floor are fully equipped with interactive white boards, data-logging facilities and the very latest teaching aids. the computer network serves each laboratory as well as the computer suite.

there is an emphasis on practical work in the department, and pupils are encouraged to make full use of our extensive apparatus to improve their experiments during investigations.

the successful candidate will have a strong science background and, ideally, knowledge of basic electronics and electricity, including how to use a multi-meter, and be capable of lifting heavy classroom equipment on occasion

normal working hours are 16 hours per week to be worked over four mornings during term time (33 weeks).
